Well hello there....

For some reason, I thought you might like to follow my journey from someone who decided to make all her Christmas presents in 2008 to something a little more commercial..... eek!

Cosy Thoughts Encased in Flannel.....

First day back at work and all I can think about is getting back under the duvet.... Not a highly positive way to start 2011.... it's not that cold anymore... but all I can think about is the need to be cosy.... So, I am willing to surf the Bridget Jones references and stake my claim on the flannel pyjama.

I LOVE them. Though, as I am fully embracing the Year of Austerity, I limit myself to one new pair a year - I have several sources. Firstly, you can't go wrong with a bit of £4 a pair from Primark... unless you're me - freakishly long waisted that is. From my rudimentary straw-poll it has transpired that if you're not freakishly long-waisted, in Primark it is often necessary to go up a size (cut the labels out - no one need know!). In the past, I have had much luck in La Senza with such things. However, I draw the line at "cute" designs. I'm sorry - but I'm not "Grumpy but Gorgeous" nor do I wish to be emblazoned with comedy penguins. Flannel PJ's MUST be "plaid" - I'm not American, so I'm a little weireded out by using the word "plaid" - in the UK it's "tartan" - but I'm even more weirded out by recommending that you all wear tartan pyjamas.....(it's the 75% Scottish Blood in me - it MUST be!). I'm sure that's something for the fetish monster. Spots I can deal with, stripes I can also deal with but, "plaid" is the way forward as far as I’m concerned - and please - unless you're 7 years old - avoid baby pink - I look ridiculous in mine, they were a mistake and so are only worn in complete solutude....

Ugh.... Aw wook at ver wickle doggies......

Last year's were from M&S - and the bottoms come in short, standard and long and they're mint green plaid with a gold sparkle through them.... That said, they were considerably more than £4.... The quest for this year's is somewhat muted.... perhaps owning 11 pairs of "plaid" PJ's is enough...(and one of the many reasons I sleep alone).... :)
Happy first day back to work everyone!!!
