Well hello there....

For some reason, I thought you might like to follow my journey from someone who decided to make all her Christmas presents in 2008 to something a little more commercial..... eek!

More Frugal Christmas Tips

I have been sewing all weekend! I have had a wonderful time with the Pink Penguin's tutorials.

Very inspiring and I'll be doing matching lavender bags just a soon as i figure out what they're going to look like! I'm holding back on showing you the fabric baskets and patch work bags.... just in case at some point those that they are intended for might actually have a look at my site!

(just liked this picture - I'm not growing my own lavender)

Been thinking further about other things that can go in jars as Christmas presents and have come up with a few more ideas:

  • Bath Salts - easy to follow instructions here
  • Lemon Curd (my granny used to make this.... a proper old fashioned treat)
  • Mincemeat - a good festive present - particularly for those that you'll see in the run-up rather than on the day

I've since realised that I don't actually have any jars - I have been very conscientious and managed to take them to the recycling..... this poses an issue - do i a) clean out my cupboards and throw out all the stuff currently in jars that might possibly never get eaten or do I buy some lovely kilner jars on eBay?

I definitely know what the right Frugal decision is.... and at the end of the day - I could probably pick up a kilner jar of lavender bath salts in a £1 shop.... but it wouldn't have the same significance now would it? oh dear..... can you advise please?
